Online English Tutoring in Kaohsiung: Where We Started

PLI was founded in Kaohsiung in 2020 and has been fully online since day one; our first students were Kaohsiung families. There is one thing every Kaohsiung parent runs into sooner or later: none of the three Cambridge exam centres we track schedules a sitting here. This page sets out who to call and where the nearest sitting is.

Cambridge exams in Kaohsiung: the honest answer

Neither yle.tw (2026 and 2027), nor the LTTC (2026), nor the Taipei YMCA lists a Kaohsiung sitting on its published schedule. That does not mean it cannot be done here: the Taipei YMCA lists three Kaohsiung registration offices, all independent language centres that arrange their own exam dates and venues, none of them published online. If you want your child to sit in Kaohsiung, calling these is the fastest route:

Kaohsiung registration officePhone
KNS'(07) 550-5611
UneedQ 瀀尼課(07) 711-6680
Great Vision 異象(07) 958-4927

Numbers as published by the Taipei YMCA, re-checked 23 September 2026. Their dates and venues differ from the Taipei centre's, so confirm directly with them. Taiwan has other Cambridge-authorised centres that this page does not cover.

If you travel, where is the nearest sitting?

Judging by the published schedules: for the rest of 2026 the nearest public sittings are in Taichung and Taipei; in 2027 yle.tw has a YLE sitting in Tainan on 29 August, the closest of these cities to Kaohsiung. The same applies to families in Pingtung. Full dates, deadlines and fees are on our 2026–2027 Cambridge exam dates page, with a city-by-city breakdown on the same page.

Travelling to sit means planning three things early: the registration deadline (usually seven to eight weeks before the exam), the journey, and whether you need a night's stay. The preparation itself is unaffected, since every lesson is online.

Kaohsiung parents often ask

Can my child sit a Cambridge exam in Kaohsiung?

The honest answer: none of the three Cambridge centres we track (yle.tw for 2026 and 2027, the LTTC for 2026, and the Taipei YMCA) has a Kaohsiung sitting on its published schedule. The Taipei YMCA does list three Kaohsiung registration offices, all independent language centres that arrange their own exam dates and venues and do not publish them online: KNS' (07) 550-5611, UneedQ 瀀尼課 (07) 711-6680 and Great Vision 異象 (07) 958-4927. If you want to sit in Kaohsiung, call them.

If we travel, where is the nearest sitting?

Of the public dates on our dates page, the nearest for the rest of 2026 are Taichung and Taipei. In 2027 yle.tw has a YLE sitting in Tainan on 29 August, and Tainan is the closest of these cities to Kaohsiung. The same applies to families in Pingtung. Full dates are on our Cambridge exam dates page.

Does having no local venue make preparation harder?

No. The preparation happens entirely online: PLI is a Kaohsiung business teaching online, and only exam day means a trip. What does need planning ahead is the travel, possibly a night’s stay, and the registration deadline, which usually falls seven to eight weeks before the exam.

What is PLI’s connection to Kaohsiung?

PLI was founded in Kaohsiung in 2020 and has been fully online since day one. Our first students were Kaohsiung families, and the approach (small classes, a native-speaker teacher) started here. Students now come from Hsinchu, Taipei and Kaohsiung, but Kaohsiung is home.
