Exam Information
Cambridge Exam Dates in Taiwan — 2026
Every remaining 2026 YLE, KET/PET and B2 First (FCE) for Schools session in Taiwan, from both registrars, with registration deadlines, on one page. The catch: registration closes 7–8 weeks before the exam, and sessions outside Taipei fill early — many parents find it's already too late by the time they think to register.
Last updated 3 September 2026. This page lists sessions from two Cambridge registrars in Taiwan — yle.tw first, then the LTTC. Always confirm on the official registration site before booking.
The three dates to put in your calendar next
- Wednesday 9 September — registration closes for yle.tw's 1 November YLE session in Taipei. This is the nearest deadline on the calendar.
- 16 September — LTTC opens registration for its 29 November YLE session in Taipei, closing 8 October.
- 23 September — LTTC opens registration for B2 First (FCE) on 5 December in Taipei and A2 Key / B1 Preliminary on 12 December in Taipei. LTTC publishes very few FCE sessions, so if you miss this one the next depends on its next published schedule.
The date to diarise is the registration deadline, not the exam. Both registrars' full schedules follow.

LTTC Sessions (Language Training & Testing Center)
Taiwan has more than one Cambridge exam registrar. Alongside yle.tw, the LTTC (Language Training & Testing Center, at National Taiwan University) runs its own sessions, and each registrar publishes its own schedule. The sessions below are LTTC's. Check both schedules — a date missing from one may be available from the other.

KET is A2, PET is B1 — which one suits your child?
Four Things Parents Should Know Before Registering
Deadlines are earlier than you think
yle.tw registration usually closes 7–8 weeks before the exam, almost always on a Wednesday. LTTC uses fixed registration windows instead, on no particular weekday. The date that belongs in your calendar is the deadline, not the exam.
Sessions outside Taipei fill up
Taipei has the most dates by far. Other cities appear much less often and fill early — Taichung's 18 October session already has. Travelling to another city to sit the exam is common.
Allow 3–6 months to prepare
Depending on your child's starting point. With only eight weeks left, focus on exam format, listening and speaking rather than cramming vocabulary — here's an eight-week plan.
YLE has no pass or fail
YLE results are shields, not a pass mark — by design, so a child's first exam is a positive one. We explain how to read the shields and how many mean your child can move up on its own page. KET and PET are different: graded certificates, and writing carries real weight.
Parents Often Ask
When does registration close for the Cambridge exams in Taiwan?
The two registrars follow different rules. yle.tw registration usually closes seven to eight weeks before the exam, almost always on a Wednesday — for example, the 1 November Taipei session closes on Wednesday 9 September. LTTC uses set registration windows instead, and its dates fall on no particular weekday — registration for its 5 December B2 First (FCE) session runs 23 September to 15 October, and for its 12 December A2 Key / B1 Preliminary session, 23 September to 22 October. The only safe move is to look up the exact deadline for the session you want, rather than working it out from a pattern. Sessions outside Taipei often fill before their deadlines, so check your city's date early.
How often are the Cambridge exams held in Taiwan, and in which cities?
Cambridge exams in Taiwan are run by two separate registrars — yle.tw, and the LTTC at National Taiwan University — and each publishes its own schedule, so there is no single fixed number of sittings per year. Here is the practical picture: yle.tw holds sessions in Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung and Tainan, while LTTC's sessions are in Taipei and Taichung. Taipei has the most dates by far. Other cities appear on the calendar much less often, so missing a local session can mean a long wait. The safest approach is to check both schedules — this page brings both together.
How far in advance should my child start preparing for a Cambridge exam?
It depends on your child's starting point, but 3 to 6 months of regular lessons is generally enough to walk in prepared. If the exam is only about 8 weeks away, shift the focus: exam format, listening and speaking, rather than new vocabulary.
Where can my child take B2 First for Schools (FCE) in Taiwan?
In Taiwan, B2 First for Schools — the exam most people still call FCE — is run by the LTTC (Language Training & Testing Center) at National Taiwan University. LTTC has published two sittings for 2026: 13 June in Taipei, which has passed, and 5 December in Taipei, with registration open 23 September to 15 October. LTTC publishes very few FCE sessions, so if you miss one the next depends on its next published schedule — it is worth putting the registration window in your calendar now. Note also that the for Schools version is restricted to students in senior high school and below. If you are not sure your child is at B2 First level yet, our free 45-minute trial lesson doubles as a level assessment.
