Online English Tutoring in Hsinchu: Local Exam Venue, Lessons at Home
Hsinchu is one of the few cities with its own Cambridge exam venue: yle.tw has two Hsinchu sittings in 2027, on 18 April and 3 October, with YLE and KET/PET on the same day, and the Taipei YMCA has two YLE sittings in Zhubei, on 30 May and 26 September. Your child does not have to travel to Taipei to sit. The preparation happens online: Science Park hours are long enough without a drive to class.
Cambridge exam dates in Hsinchu, and their deadlines
Hsinchu is one of the five cities where yle.tw schedules sittings, and the Taipei YMCA ran two YLE sittings there in 2026 and has scheduled two for 2027. These are the Hsinchu dates those two centres have published; the ones in bold have not closed yet:

Dates are as published by yle.tw and the Taipei YMCA; confirm with the centre before you register. yle.tw opens its August–December 2027 sessions for registration in November 2026, so the 3 October date is not bookable yet. Families in Zhubei: Zhubei is in Hsinchu County. The Taipei YMCA’s two 2027 Hsinchu YLE sittings (30 May and 26 September) are at Dongxing Elementary School in Zhubei itself (the YMCA says the venue may change; the admission ticket address is final); both are in the table above with the other Hsinchu sittings.

Can my child sit a Cambridge exam in Hsinchu?
Yes. yle.tw schedules Hsinchu sittings: registration for the 4 October 2026 date closed on 12 August, and in 2027 there are two, 18 April and 3 October, with YLE and KET/PET held on the same day. Registration for 18 April is open now and closes on Wednesday 24 February 2027; yle.tw opens registration for 3 October in November 2026. The Taipei YMCA also ran two YLE sittings in Hsinchu in 2026 (24 May and 20 September), both now closed, and has scheduled two more for 2027: 30 May (closes 12 April) and 26 September (closes 9 August), at Dongxing Elementary School in Zhubei (the YMCA says the venue may change; the admission ticket is final), registration by post or at the counter. Families in Zhubei should look at the Hsinchu dates, which are the nearest.
My child is at an international or private school in Hsinchu. Will the lessons fit?

Hsinchu already has plenty of cram schools. What does online change?
Two things. Class size: PLI groups are capped at four, a hard cap, so your child is called on many times in every lesson. And the commute: Science Park hours are long already, and cutting the round trip gives a family back several hours a week. Lessons are online, so Hsinchu City, Zhubei, Hukou and Xinfeng are all equally close.
